2025 Winter-Spring Developmental Club Program Details and Registration

Club Mesa Developmental is suitable for beginners or athletes with minimal experience, 8-17 years old.

Eight 6-week Team Sessions Offered, 2 practices per week for 1 hour each

Session 1

  • Team 1: Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan 27 – Mar 5, 5-6 PM
  • Team 2: Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan 27 – Mar 5, 6-7 PM
  • Team 3: Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan 28 – Mar 6, 5-6 PM

Coach Adam Cox

Coach Adam Cox

Head Coach Arizona Athletic Grounds Team

Coach Adam comes from a sports and athletic background. He played football, basketball, and baseball as a youth. He also played tennis and basketball in college.

Five years ago, Adam picked up a pickleball paddle and his primary sports focus began to change. He played is his first senior pro event after playing for only 6 months. He has grown to love the sport of pickleball and the its community.

Adam has now won over 40 tournaments in the 4.0 – 5.0 range. He has also achieved silver and bronze medal finishes in a variety of other tournaments. Coach Adam admits that he gains as much satisfaction out of coaching and helping other athletes to improve as he does winning a gold medal in a tournament.

Currently, Coach Adam is the Head Coach for pickleball at the Arizona Athletic Grounds. He has been coaching and teaching pickleball for the past 3 years. He has taught clinics, private lessons, youth leagues, and adult groups. As a coach and teacher Adam says that he looks for specific ways to help clients based on his observations on the court, seeking to always help them improve their technique and skills,  and raise their pickleball IQ.

Coach Newton is an experienced Youth Sports Leader & Pickleball Enthusiast with 20 years of experience as a head coach and club director in youth sports, She is excited to bring her passion and expertise to the court as a pickleball coach for young athletes. Coach Newton’s extensive background in coaching youth athletes has taught her the importance of creating a supportive, fun, and dynamic learning environment. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and most importantly, a love for the game. As an advanced pickleball player and athlete, Coach Newton has competed in various tournaments and leagues all over the valley. A highlight for her last year, was taking 2nd place at the National Qualifier in Newport Beach with her husband, Cory.
Coach Newton is looking forward to sharing her experience and enthusiasm with the next generation of pickleball players and helping them grow into skilled, motivated, and passionate athletes.
