Andre Mercado and his mixed doubles partner Jalina Ingram won the Gold Medal in the 5.0 skill, 8-34 age bracket at the PPA Tour Las Vegas Pickleball Cup. Andre is 14 years old and is a member of the Pickleball Players Club of AZ, which is one of our two HP clubs within Monster Athlete Juniors.
Congratulations to Andre and Jalina for their stunning achievement. The pair also came in third place in the Mixed Doubles Pro Qualifier in a field of 24 teams. This win moved them into the mixed doubles pro main draw where they lost to Tyra Hurricane Black and Dylan Frazier in the first round, but still regarded as a great accomplishment for a 14 and 17 year old pair among pros. Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johnson won the overall Mixed Doubles event.
